Thoughts during a silent retreat...
I am nothing, God is all. It is God whom we, ultimately, are totally dependent upon... God is everything, I am nothing. I see my arrogance: in spite of all that God has done for me, I am not taking advantage of the time I have in order to do the things He has asked me to do. It's like as though it doesn't apply to me. Jesus, have you really, really known me since before time existed? I know you did, and I'm trying to wrap my mind around that fact. But do you really have a mission for me from before time existed, a purpose to fulfill your design upon the world? Have I realized how many times that you have saved me from myself? How you preserved me from death: death of body and of soul? You care and love me that much?? Please help me to see you then so much more present than I know, my infinite worth to you. How have I repaid you? With ingratitude my Lord: with ingratitude. Help me to know how little I truly am, and how great You truly are. Please Lord, lead me, so that I may accomplish that which You have always wanted me to do for You...
“Ingratitude comes easily to most people: also to you. Do not make light of the fact that all men were created in My image, the Triune image: male and female I created them. Yes, each of you were created in My eternal thought before the world was created, before the atoms coalesced into substance, before the first light lit the heavens. Yes, I know you. I have directed you from the moment of your conception. How many times have I run to rescue you from yourself: from spiritual death as well as physical death? How many times have I showered you with abundant blessings seen and unseen? Ask for the grace to know how much I love you, to see with gratitude My constant care for you. My wellspring of love overflows upon humanity as never before, trying to stop the tide of permissive evil to drown you. When you live your life through Me, in Me and with Me, you are living Me. Your purpose in life is being accomplished: in fact you are living your purpose. Yes, I have a specific plan, a mission for each of My children: the good as well as the bad which requires your ‘yes’. Pray for the knowledge and grace to know and understand your mission and with your Yes infused within your gratitude, allow Me to lead you.
Will you help Me? Will you help stem the tide? Will you allow Me to dwell within you totally? Will you surrender all to Me? Your pride? Your vanity? Your will? Come! Together, you and I! Let us journey towards the fulfillment of the mission to which I have called you. Fear not the storm swells, the darkness of the night, the height of the tide. I am the Ship that rescues. I am the Mariner who knows the tides and calms the sea. I Am. Follow Me and together I will lead you to the fulfillment of the mission, the goal, that I have for each of you which was written upon your heart before time existed. Your lost brothers and sisters need you. I need you. These are the times when I need all My cherished children to personify Me. I will act within you, so fear not. Let us begin...”
